Looking for a twist on traditional bridal bouquet? Consider using succulent instead of flowers. With a little effort, we can turn these adorable plants into an irresistibly charming wedding bouquet. You might need hundred of dollars to get professional designed wedding flowers but with this DIY, we can still have fun and keep it within budget. And the fact that you could actually replant your bouquet and maybe make a little garden out of it make this much better.
WHAT YOU NEED
- 22 gauge floral wire.
- Succulent of all sizes and colors.
- Floral tape.
Step 1: Prepare the succulent clippings
Clean the dirt from the roots. If the roots are too big, cut the roots from the succulents. Remove some bottom leaves to expose the stem as much as possible. Keep the leaves for propagation.

Step 2: For the bigger and heavier rossettes, use 2 wires to create a longer faux stem for the succulents. Pierce one through the very base of the rosette. Turn the rosette and do the same with the 2nd wire. The two wire should make a 90 degree angle. Then, fold it over and twist them together.
With smaller succulents, you just need to use one wire. Follow the same steps with bigger succulents.
Step 3: Wrap the floral tape around the wire. Stretching and twirling them to activate the stickiness then work it along the wire.

Step 4: Now all your pieces are ready, let's create the bouquet. Start with the succulents you want to put in the center of the bouquet (These are often the biggest ones). Once you got the center, start adding more succulents.

You might want the later pieces to be at a lower position to create a 'dome structure'. Keep on turning the bouquet and adding more pieces. Every time you add more succulents, use tape to wrap all the stems together.

Step 5: If you the want the color to pop, add some filler flowers or green. Finish the bouquet by wrapping the stem altogether with ribbon or twine using glue gun.

Groom's Succulent Boutonniere

A red and pink rose boutonniere is classic but why not step up your game with a fresher take. We all know peonies and roses are a go-to but playing safe can be boring sometimes. It is your wedding, let's us show you how a succulent DIY version of boutonniere can be the perfect pick for your groom.
WHAT YOU NEED
- Floral wire
- Ribbon
- 2" succulents of different colors
Step 1: Pierce the wire through the very base of the rosettes and fold it down.
Step 2: Stretch and wrap the floral tape around the wire.

Step 3: Add some fillers to finish the look. You can use small or stringy type of succulent like String of pearls or Blue Chalk Stick. Secure them all with the tape.
Step 4: Use the wire cutter to trim the stem to 3" long. You can decorate the faux stem with ribbons or twines. Wrap the ribbon around the stem, start from the bottom and work it up to the very base of the rosette. Then, cut the ribbon about 6" long. Loop the ribbon around your finger then tuck it back to itself.

WHAT YOU NEED
- Plastic hair comb
- Succulent cutting of all size and color, dried flower
- 22 gauge floral wire
- Wire cutter
- Scissors
Step 1: Start by cutting a short length of floral wire and piercing the base of your succulent and air plant. Fold the wire over and gently twist it. Next, start wrapping the wire through the prongs of the hair comb until securely fixed in place when you want the succulent be.

Step 2: Continue adding more flower and continue wrapping the wire around the comb. Put the rosettes succulent in the center and then the smaller flowers and fillers to finish the look. Once you’re happy with the floral elements, remove any excess then hide the end by tucking it through the base of the succulents.
